The Valet Manager is responsible for the presentation of every vehicle that leaves Fergies. They lead the valet operative, set and maintain the standard across all four valet tiers, and ensure every complimentary valet is completed correctly and on time. Beyond the valet itself, they own the internal damage reporting process and play an active role in presenting and selling valet add-ons to customers where appropriate.
- Every vehicle leaves Fergies to the correct valet tier standard — no exceptions
- All vehicles are inspected and damage reported accurately on arrival — every time
- Valet add-ons are presented proactively and conversion is tracked and improving
- The valet team operates efficiently and vehicles are ready for handover on time
Fergies is exploring the development of a standalone detailing operation. The Valet Manager is the natural lead for this — building the technical skills, standards and processes now that will underpin that future service.
- Carry out and oversee all complimentary valets to the correct tier standard as determined by the customer's invoice value
- Direct and develop the valet operative — ensure they work to the correct standard on every vehicle
- Review the workshop schedule daily to plan valet workload and ensure vehicles are ready for collection on time
- Liaise with front of house to confirm valet completion and vehicle readiness for customer handover
- Maintain all valet equipment, products and consumables
- Inspect every vehicle on arrival and identify opportunities for paid add-on services
- Present add-on recommendations to front of house clearly so they can be offered to the customer professionally
- Track add-on conversions and report to the FOH Manager regularly
Every vehicle that arrives at Fergies must be inspected and its condition documented before any work begins. An accurate damage report protects the customer, protects the business and ensures there is never any ambiguity about the condition of a vehicle when it arrived.
- Inspect every vehicle on arrival — exterior bodywork, glass, wheels, tyres and interior condition
- Document all pre-existing damage accurately — photographs and written notes on the damage report
- Ensure the damage report is completed and signed off before the vehicle enters the workshop
- Flag any significant pre-existing damage to front of house immediately
- Retain all damage reports — they are a legal and commercial record for the business
- At vehicle collection, confirm the condition matches the arrival report and flag any discrepancies to the FOH Manager immediately
- No vehicle enters the workshop without a completed damage report
- All reports must include photographs — written notes alone are not sufficient
- Any damage found on collection that was not on the arrival report must be escalated to the FOH Manager and owner immediately
- Every vehicle is treated as if it belongs to a family member — with care, respect and attention to detail
- The damage report is never skipped, never rushed and never incomplete — it protects everyone
- Valet tier standards are followed precisely — the tier determines the service, not how busy the day is
- Add-on opportunities are identified on every vehicle and communicated to front of house proactively
- Communicates clearly with front of house on vehicle readiness — never leaves them guessing
- Leads the valet operative by example, not just by instruction
